For smaller jobs like a single bathroom remodel, a 10-yard dumpster usually has plenty of room. If you're tackling a kitchen remodel or replacing carpet across several rooms, it's worth stepping up to the 20-yard dumpster, since cabinets, countertops, and rolled carpet take up space quickly. When your project lands somewhere in between, the 20-yard tends to be the safer pick because the difference in price is small.

You'll only need one if the dumpster sits on the street, parkway, alley, or sidewalk. Those spots require a Naperville right-of-way permit, which you can apply for through the city's Civic Access portal. Plan for about 14 calendar days of review time, and call the city at (630) 420-6100, option 2, for current fees. If you can keep the dumpster on your driveway, you won't need a permit at all and can skip the wait.

Most project debris is fine, but a few things have to stay out. Illinois bans landscape waste from landfill dumpsters, so grass, leaves, branches, and brush from a Naperville yard project can't go in. TVs, computers, and other electronics covered by the state's recycling law are also banned. Hazardous waste like paint, motor oil, batteries, pesticides, and fluorescent bulbs is prohibited in both DuPage and Will counties. If you have an item you're unsure about, we're glad to check for you.

VaVia can usually drop off a dumpster in Naperville the same day you order or the first thing the next morning. On delivery day, you'll get text updates with your driver's ETA, so you'll know when to have the driveway clear. You can order online anytime, or give us a call if you'd like to talk through your project first.

Yes, we do. Along with Naperville, VaVia delivers to nearby towns like Lisle, Bolingbrook, Aurora, Plainfield, Warrenville, and Woodridge. Since Naperville spans DuPage and Will counties, we cover addresses on both sides of the county line. If you're just outside these towns, reach out, and we'll see whether we can get to you.
